Woodward Grosvenor

Established 1790 by Benjamin Grosvenor in Kidderminster, the home of carpet excellence, Woodward Grosvenor manufactures and supplies a wide range of high quality wool-rich carpets and plant fibre floorcoverings for the residential market.

Getme were asked to produce a website for Woodward Grosvenor, which had become part of the Brintons Group in 2003. It had to reflect the elegant design and timeless style of their products while providing all the information a visitor could need, and also be flexible enough to allow for the easy implementation of any future updates.

Woodward Grosvenor floorcoverings

Spoilt for choice

Woodward Grosvenor offer a wealth of carpet options across several ranges including plain and patterned wool-rich carpets and their natural base plant fibre floorcovering collection.

In order to allow visitors to find what they are after as easily as possible, Getme used their Air web framework as the base structure for the site, providing options for product selection either by range or by colour.

Once a visitor has narrowed down their preference to a specific range, or variations on a colour, they are able to see many large example images together on the same page, and can click on any carpet or floor covering for an even larger image, product code and specification details. This gives visitors a good impression of the quality of the product they are interested in.

A sample may then be ordered if desired, by adding to an online 'sample basket' which can be used to order up to eight samples at a time.

Specifying only retailers that stock these ranges

Customer Care

In addition to the comprehensive product range presented, the Woodward Grosvenor site provides their customers with the information required to answer most questions they could have about their floorcoverings, including a very effective facility to find a retailer.

This retailer location facility is similar to that found on the Getme produced Brintons site, except that it has an additional feature: allowing a visitor to specify the design ranges they are interested in, so that the search will only show retailers who stock the ranges in question. This clearly cuts out any laborious investigation a potential customer may otherwise need to do to track down their chosen product in the local area.

Once a suitable local retailer has been found, the customer can select to Get directions. This displays a clear route on screen via Google Maps, and a step by step list of directions, any of which can be clicked on in order to show that section of the route in greater detail.

Conclusion

The Woodward Grosvenor website clearly shares a number of design and functional elements with that of its parent company Brintons, which enables it to reflect the relationship between the two in a subtle way, but also to share the powerful and effective product browsing facilities of the larger-budget site.

The Air system again proves its flexibility to be used for any scale of project, providing the same quality and ease of use both for visitors to the site and the administrators that are able to keep content up to date with a minimum of effort.
